Areas Of Competence in 21st Century.

In the world of today, which is ever progressing and moving forward, one has to look or take it upon themselves to see how they can better theirself and others withing the community. Having said this i will be focusing on more on why i think aquiring and implementing these skills can help achieve professionalism and self improvement as a teacher in my profession.

Planning

In the perspective of teaching a lesson, it would help me put things into a certain order that will allow me to flow through it in the presence of learners. Thus creating space for input of ideas or examples that would come in the moment of the lesson aswell, allowing me to know where to ask the learners questions, give activities like class exercises to do or sending them home with the work as a task or research. Planning will allow me to adhere and stick to the regulated lesson time aswell not to go overboard.

I believe it would do so much for the other teachers and myself included cause it would also allow us to fact check the work will will present in the lesson. This builds confidence in such that even when learners ask questions, you will have a ground to stand on and give the correct answer or point the learner in the right direction.

Planning is majorly important cause we will also need to adhere to the standards of the country or region. Standards that stipulate what students need to learn in each grade, level and subject. This will be an indicating factor when it comes to measuring the proffesional performance of a teacher, should the students not be passing well or vice-versa.

Health and Safety

In today's current state of the pandemic of Covid 19 worldwide, i feel health and safety is a major key area competence one needs to attain. Teachers spend hours of the day with the learners, fellow teachers and parents for meetings. Neither person knows where the other has been and what they touched, sanitary quipment like hand sanitizers are a need. Even the day to day basic measures like taking baths and washing hands regularaly. 

When it comes to safety, it all comes down to the safety of the learners and teachers. I'm talking about violence within the school grounds, teachers beating learners under the pretence of punishment and learners beating up the teachers simply because they can overpower them. If these issues are touched upon and talked about they can become less and less occurant until it becomes extinct. When theres that mutual good relation of understanding in the environment, the energy work flow and productivity increases.

If health and safety is practiced well, at times life lessons can be taught to the learners aside from their curriculum that would benefit them in the outside world. 

Networking

The feat of Networking can be traced all the way back since the internet was discovered. If alot of the other teachers can be aware of how to use devices that have access to these services, informational exchange can greatly improve than it already has. Teachers could even aquire new skills or information over the internet or from other teachers internationally via forum hubs. Not only does it benefit the teachers but it would benefit the learners in these times of the pandemic as we experience lockdowns and restrictions. Lessons can be taught online or work can be given and handed in, so as to keep the learners minds updated and not left behind.

Teaching can be a very demanding proffesion as it requires you to stay up to date and forever learning, this can be easily accessible and done if proer networking services are put in place. This would develop proffesional and personal growth. This can be achieve by having school portals and feedback sites where learners and teachers can engage effectively.
